school and groups
Making a mosaic is a enjoyable skill and ticks many of the boxes on the national curriculum. Children love to see their drawings turned into permanent works of art, it motivates, encourages team work and helps with dexterity. These projects are all done by the children and have not been adjusted in any way, which may mean they are not as well finished as some - and perhaps are in places a little chaotic, but they are truly ‘all their own work’.
If you would like to discuss a project you have in mind for your school please
phone or email.
In 2008 the first school mosaic competition was launched, organised by Anne with BAMM (British Association of Modern Mosaic) and sponsored by Topps Tiles. If you would like to see the entries for 2009 click here. The quality of the entries are a testament to the enthusiasm with which this craft is received in schools. Funding is available for schools throughtout 2010, please apply through the website.
